Titusville Area Hospital (TAH) is gaining statewide recognition for its outstanding efforts in supporting and promoting organ, eye, and tissue donation. The hospital has been awarded a prestigious platinum designation through The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania’s (HAP) 2024 Donate Life Pennsylvania Hospital Challenge.
This annual campaign, which collaborates with the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the Center for Organ Recovery & Education, aims to boost awareness of donation within hospitals and their communities.
“TAH takes great pride in participating in the Donate Life Hospital Challenge. This initiative not only provides valuable education to our medical staff but also raises public awareness about the critical importance of organ donation and how to register as a donor,” said Lee Clinton, CEO of TAH.
TAH’s engagement in the challenge included activities such as a Donate Life flag-raising ceremony, spirit week, Blue and Green Day events, social media outreach, public advertising, and the distribution of educational materials throughout the hospital. These efforts, which continued throughout April, were instrumental in achieving the platinum designation.
HAP President and CEO Nicole Stallings said, “HAP commends Pennsylvania hospitals and our partners for their terrific work to support and raise awareness about organ donation. The level of participation in the challenge demonstrates the commitment and dedication hospital teams have for the health of their communities. Increasing the number of organ, eye, and tissue donors is critical to helping hospital teams save and improve lives.”
TAH was among 118 hospitals statewide participating in this year’s challenge.
